A collaborative, strengths-based process designed to assess and develop meaningful and functional life skills that promote independence, inclusion and a better quality of life for each student. The assessment process is the basis for program planning and implementation.

The AST program is designed to help individuals and caregivers gain the confidence to engage in learning and practicing skills in a variety of settings. This model emphasizes collaboration with families, individualized support, and observable and sustainable progress in the home, school, and community.
