

Adaptive Skills Training (AST) Program Implementation
Description: The AST program is designed to help individuals and caregivers gain the confidence to engage in learning and practicing skills in a variety of settings. This model emphasizes collaboration with families, individualized support, and observable and sustainable progress in the home, school, and community.
Process:
Program development: Create individualized adaptive goals, develop task analyses for specific skills, and design interventions using evidence-based ABA strategies.
Coaching and support implementation: Provide hands-on coaching to parents, teachers and support providers, integrate teaching strategies into natural environments (NET) and monitor and adjust programming.
Multidisciplinary collaboration: Collaborate with school and home support teams, participate in regular collaboration meetings.
Family and caregiver involvement: Conduct regular consultation sessions with families and caregivers, provide user-friendly tools that are culturally compatible with the family.
Environmental supports and community integration: Provide recommendations for adaptation and modification, create tools to support independence in diverse settings, and promote inclusion and participation of students in diverse settings.
Progress monitoring and reassessment: use simple, family-friendly methods to track progress weekly, conduct follow-up every 6-12 months, and maintain clear documentation.
Rate: $125/hour
Payment options: private pay or California Self-Determination Program.
Location: home, community and virtual.
