She collaborates with graduate students to develop presentations for education practitioners on supporting individuals with Down syndrome in schools, dynamic assessment, inclusive teaching, and strength-based practices.
Lucia has also participated in grant-funded research through the University of California, Los Angeles, coaching educators to implement evidence-based practices for autistic students. She continues her professional growth through two certification programs and regular conference attendance. Lucia is a member of the Strength-Based Collective, an organization that develops resources for educators, students, families, and schools focused on the power of strength-based practices. Her diverse experiences have allowed her to cultivate a unique skill set that bridges strengths and learning profiles with academics, mental wellness, and sexuality. As an assessor, her psychoeducational evaluations are not only thorough but designed to offer educational teams meaningful insights that directly inform individualized educational programming.
Aside from her career, Lucia is a bookworm, traveler, and proud dog owner. She is a lifelong learner and enjoys challenging herself to learn new recipes to cook, dance, and try new things!
