Adaptive skills support to build independence.

We provide adaptive skills assessment, training, and progress monitoring to support the development of meaningful, functional life skills that promote independence, inclusion, and quality of life. Services are collaborative, strengths-based, and individualized, with an emphasis on real-world application across home, school, and community settings. Assessment and training are grounded in evidence-based practices, including ABA-informed strategies, and are designed to support sustainable growth over time.

Adaptive Skills Assessment

Description:

Adaptive skills assessment is a collaborative, strengths-based process designed to identify meaningful functional skills that support independence, inclusion, and quality of life. The assessment integrates interviews, standardized and non-standardized tools, naturalistic and structured observations, and task analysis to develop individualized goals and recommendations. Results provide a clear foundation for program planning and targeted skill development across home, school, and community settings.

Rates:

Rates may vary depending onlocation, timelines for services, hours required, and materials. Rates typically range from $125/hour to $155/hour for a range of 6-10 hours. Please inquire with admin@bookwormedpsych.com for more information.

California Self-Determination Program funding (331- Community Integration Supports; 331- Adaptive Skills), or private pay (payment plans available upon request).

Individual Adaptive Skills Training (AST)

Description:

Adaptive Skills Training (AST) is offered in both individual and group formats and focuses on teaching and strengthening functional skills through evidence-based interventions in natural environments. The program emphasizes collaboration with families and support teams, caregiver coaching, and ongoing progress monitoring to support skill generalization across settings. AST is designed to promote observable, sustainable progress and increased confidence for both individuals and caregivers.
Individual AST Services:
- Individual AST provides personalized, one-on-one support focused on developing functional skills aligned with the individual’s goals, strengths, and daily routines. Services emphasize caregiver coaching, natural environment teaching, and ongoing progress monitoring to support skill generalization across home, school, and community settings.
- Rates: Rates may vary depending on the type, location, timelines for services, hours required, and materials. Rates typically range from $125/hour to $155/hour. Please inquire with admin@bookwormedpsych.com for more information.

Group Adaptive Skills Training (AST) Services

Description: Adaptive Skills Training (AST) is offered in both individual and group formats and focuses on teaching and strengthening functional skills through evidence-based interventions in natural environments. The program emphasizes collaboration with families and support teams, caregiver coaching, and ongoing progress monitoring to support skill generalization across settings. AST is designed to promote observable, sustainable progress and increased confidence for both individuals and caregivers.
Group AST Services:
- Group AST offers structured skill-building opportunities in a supportive peer setting, promoting learning through shared experiences and collaboration. Groups focus on functional skill development, social engagement, and independence while supporting generalization, confidence, and participation across real-world environments.

    - Adaptive Skills: Self-Care Skills/ Hygiene– CHILDREN (Dates TBD)
    - Adaptive Skills: Self-Care Skills/ Hygiene– TEEN (Dates TBD)
    - Adaptive Skills: Self-Care Skills/ Hygiene– YOUNG ADULT (Dates TBD)
- Rates: Rates for group AST services (series of 10 sessions are $700, which includes the cost for two facilitators, all physical materials, and one parent/caregiver orientation training). Please inquire with admin@bookwormedpsych.com for more information.
