I am Lucia Serio.Licensed Educational Psychologist.

I am a Los Angeles native and the daughter of educators. I have worked with individuals with disabilities for over ten years and am currently working as an independent educational psychologist supporting individuals with disabilities in the Southern California area. My experiences in education and disability are vast and have influenced my values in my current practice. In my practice, I value equitable and inclusive practices for all, self-determination, affirming care, and strength-based mindset.

A bookworm is defined as "a person devoted to reading"; a name for those who are on an ongoing quest for knowledge and value learning.  As an educator, one must also always be a learner. This space is dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities in learning to be self-determined and lead fulfilling lives, with a special focus on honoring each person's unique and dynamic strengths.  Here, you're you and your loved ones are not just clients; you're valued community members poised for learning and growth.

One of the things I appreciate about Lucia's interactions is that she remains student- centered. She is open to collaborating with all stakeholders, including the child whose needs she is supporting, and always interacts with them respectfully, as she considers their input.
